We are pleased to announce the publication of the Book of Abstracts from the International Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference “Bridging Digital Divides: Skills, Inclusion and Socio-Economic Transformation,” held on 20–21 May 2026 in Bratislava, Slovakia, in a hybrid format.
Hosted by the Faculty of Economics and Finance at the Bratislava University of Economics and Business, the conference was organised within the framework of the ODDEA, EDSAW, STICS, SEMEQ and Sustain4Future projects.
The publication brings together research contributions addressing key challenges and opportunities associated with digital transformation. Its four principal thematic areas include:
- Digital divides and inclusive digital development;
- Digital skills, education and workforce transformation;
- Digital governance, public policy and societal impacts;
- Sustainable business, innovation and regional development.
The Book of Abstracts reflects the conference’s interdisciplinary and international character, bringing together researchers, academics, policymakers, practitioners, doctoral candidates and other stakeholders. The contributions examine how digitalisation influences economies, labour markets, public institutions and society, while highlighting the importance of ensuring that digital transformation supports inclusion, accessibility and sustainable socio-economic development.
Edited by Anetta Čaplánová, Ľubomír Darmo and Harshani Amanda Karunathilake, the publication provides valuable insights into digital infrastructure, skills development, lifelong learning, e-government, digital accessibility, entrepreneurship, innovation ecosystems and strategies for reducing digital inequalities.
