Researcher of the Month – March 2024

Jewel Kumar Roy is a PhD student in Financial Technology at Széchenyi István University, Hungary. He holds the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Finance and Banking, Faculty of Business Administration, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Bangladesh.


Previously, he held the position of Lecturer at Daffodil International University, Bangladesh. He has obtained his MSc in Financial Technology (FinTech) from the University of Stirling, Scotland, UK along with MBA in Finance and BBA in Financial Management from Savitribai Phule Pune University, India. He has also been awarded the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, Commonwealth Shared Scholarship, ICCR Scholarship, and Bangladesh Government Scholarship for academic excellence. Jewel has certifications in Python for Finance, Blockchain Business Models, and FinTech. He has published articles in international journals and reviewed articles for Scopus-indexed journals. He has also conducted seminars and training programs on Financial Technology.

His research interests encompass Artificial Intelligence, Financial Technology, ESG, Blockchain, Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), Cryptocurrencies and Machine Learning. As part of the ODDEA project, he finished two manuscripts titled “Digital Divide in the European Union” and “Building Trust and Confidence in the Use of Banking Apps: A Study on Southeast Asia and Europe” and submitted them to scientific journals. He is currently working on a paper titled “FinTech Credit Apps: A Study on Global Perspective”.
