Dr. Anna Surowiec is an associate professor in the Department of Finance and Accounting, Faculty of Management, at AGH University of Krakow, Poland. She is currently undertaking the one-month research secondment under the ODDEA project at UiTM, Malaysia.
Dr Anna Surowiec has a PhD and a postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in social sciences in management. She conducts lectures in the field of financial accounting, management accounting, and financial and non-financial reporting. Her research interests are related to the issues of nonfinancial reporting, including integrated reporting. She is the author and co-author of over 100 scientific publications, including articles in academic journals and several monographs (“Integrated Reporting and Performance Measurement Systems,” “Information Policy of Listed Companies in the Era of Sustainable Development: Integrated Reporting,” and “Nonfinancial Information in Organizations’ Reporting”). Dr. Anna Surowiec was an active participant in a number of conferences and scientific congresses, and completed academic internships at School of Business and Finance, Technological Education Institution of Western Macedonia (Greece), Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitat Obetra de Catalunya (Spain), Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Universidad de Valladolid (Spain), Teeside University, School of Business and Management, Middlesbrough (UK).
As part of the ODDEA project, Dr. Anna Surowiec, together with Dr. Anna Czapkiewicz and MSc Justyna Tora from AGH University of Krakow, conducts research on the perception of the digital transformation by individuals. The subject of the research is: “Sentiment Study of the Digitalization”. The purpose of the study is twofold: first, to analyze individual sentiments toward digitalization, and second, to construct a measure based on levels of fear and satisfaction with digital transformation. The research is being conducted using a survey to collect data on individuals’ feelings about the development of digitalization. The survey included questions that addressed both satisfaction and concerns about digitalization.
At UiTM, Dr Anna Surowiec continues her data collection for the ODDEA project to widen the pool of respondents for her research on digitalization. She would also participate in the Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School, UiTM conference (AiCoBM2024) which is set to take place on 12th and 13th September in Genting Highland, Malaysia. At the conference, she would disseminate information about the ODDEA project and her research work, in her engagements with the conference participants.
